Specialist in tank work

Terminals in Rotterdam, the Botlek and the Maasvlakte hold storage tanks tens of metres across. A roof that can no longer be repaired after major maintenance, a tank due for replacement or part of a terminal getting a new purpose: DCC carries out the work, often preserving what is still usable. Tank demolition and dismantling is one of our core specialities.

What we do at terminals

Removing or replacing floating roofs (including double-deck) and fixed roofs, preserving tank and floor
Demolishing complete tanks in phases, preserving floor, shell courses or spiral staircase where possible
Dismantling and removing pipework, pump pits and platforms
Remediation of asbestos and process residues, and soil remediation when the site is redeveloped

Safe next to live storage

Flammable product, vacuum risk when cutting shell courses loose and other contractors a few metres away: tank work calls for a cutting and lifting plan worked out in detail beforehand. Contaminated sections are cut cold rather than with a torch, and critical parts are lifted out under control. On the Maasvlakte we removed a 500-tonne floating roof within a week this way — a job that returns every year.
