The first step of the transition
Old power stations close, combined heat and power units are replaced, substations are renewed and the first generation of wind turbines reaches the end of its life. Before anything new can be built, the old must come out safely and completely. That is the work DCC is at home in: the dismantling of complete installations, including remediation and separated disposal.
Working on an operational site
Energy installations rarely stand alone. They sit on a terminal, next to a factory or in the middle of a network that has to keep delivering. We plan the dismantling around that: in phases, with coordinated work permits and without disrupting operations. That is how we dismantled a complete CHP plant in the middle of an operational Seveso LNG terminal — meticulously prepared and delivered without incident.
Residual value from the old installation
Turbines, transformers, switchgear and pipework represent value. Whatever can be reused or sold is carefully dismantled; the rest is disposed of separately and circularly. Hazardous substances such as chromium-6 in old switch cabinets are inventoried and remediated beforehand.
