Dismantling in inner-city areas? We at DCC also have extensive experience with that. For example, we recently demolished an old school building on the Huyterstraat in the center of Delft. On the site of this building and the adjacent hotel, an entrepreneur is going to realize apartments for short stays.
The original school building was structurally unsuitable to transform into new apartments. The hotel did have a usable base, so we demolished that shell. That means everything was dismantled out, but the original walls and foundation remained. The asbestos was also safely remediated.
What made this project so complex was that the work on the canal took place in the middle of the city center. This meant that vibration and nuisance had to be well taken into account. A safety plan was drawn up in consultation with the municipality so that we were well prepared for all possible risks. By mapping out the surroundings through field and desk research, everything was well coordinated and the work proceeded safely.
In cooperation with the archaeology department of the municipality of Delft, many beautiful and interesting finds have been made. Delft is a city with a rich history this is reflected in the finds that have been made. A large part of the finds date back to the year 1600. In the gallery below an overview of the top finds.
Moreover, with this inner-city project we were dealing with many local residents. Therefore, we communicated with the residents when we would be working, what the work would be and who they could contact if there were complaints. We announced this through a letter and a residents' evening.
This allowed us to carry out the work without any unexpected surprises. We can again say with confidence: Your project, efficiently executed....
