Maintenance of floor gratings and cage ladders within factory complex

You may have noticed that we call ourselves a multidisciplinary demolition company. Why multidisciplinary? Because in addition to razing structures to the ground, we also perform other types of work.

For a client for whom we have had the opportunity to perform several demolition projects and turn-arounds in the past, in 2019 we did the maintenance of the floor gratings, cage ladders, landings and railings within the factory complex, among other things.

Systematic inventory of components

At the plant this time, we dealt with maintenance of the walkways within the plant. Beforehand, we first did a systematic inventory over the entire plant to determine which floor gratings, cage ladders, landings and handrails needed repair and/or replacement.

We took out the parts that could be repaired and had them blasted and coated, then put them back in. We had new parts measured for the remaining parts. We undertook both disassembly and assembly, partly with cranes and aerial platforms.

We also did sawing and wrenching work to remove pipes and structures.

We also replaced the filters of one of the plant components, which was in a confined space which we were allowed to enter under special conditions.

Cold disassembly

Given the chemical nature of the plant, it was only allowed to work with non-sparking tools and equipment. The only way to get the job done was to disassemble it, which in this case meant that our guys had to do a lot of tinkering.

In total, we spent about 6 months on this maintenance work. We can again say with confidence: Your project, efficiently executed.
